Biomass 

The traditional problems in the mitigation of MSW is two-fold:

  • The annual generation of feedstocks can vary significantly (30,000+ tonnes per year)
  • The consistency of the waste also varies, so that the calorific value makes it very hard to run standard waste plants efficiently

GCR offers a Biomass augmentation program that can smooth out supply chains, so that waste-to-energy plants will always run at optimum capacity. The addition of biomass to conventional MSW feedstocks also addresses variance in calorific values, to optimise plant efficiency.

GCR can provide waste to energy plants, dedicated to biomass feed for green power production. We can also assist in establishing a local biomass industry to support this.

1) GCR has a Biomass substitution program available for its W2E Plants

2) If insufficient MSW is available, or if large quantities of blending materials are required, or if a client simply wants Green Power – GCR has in-house expertise for the Cultivation, or supply of sustainable Bio-mass

3) Giant King Grass (GKG) is our crop of choice for cultivation, but we can design systems to accommodate other Biomass sources including Sargassum & other Marine organics
