Pump Storage Hydro (PSH) systems are important for providing 24/7 green power. It is an alternative to expensive battery systems, and is very effective when coupled with solar power.

The principle is simple – a limited electric power source (e.g. solar, operating for an effective four hours per day), is used to pump water to a reservoir, which is then released over a full 24 hour period to provide constant power.
